1. Division I Dates / Times - If the district tournament has determined a champion and runner-up, the girls’ soccer region semifinals will be October 21 and finals October 23. Schools may mutually agree to play earlier. In region semifinals and region finals, it shall be the responsibility of the host school to set the time of the game. It is the responsibility of the host school to notify the visiting team of the game time and game site.
  2. Division II Dates / Times - The Division II Class A region tournaments must be completed by October 18, 2025. There is no set date for Division II Class AA to determine their final seedings, however, the following dates should be taken into consideration. The Division II Class A First Round Match shall take place on October 21, 2025. The Division II Class AA First Round Match shall take place on October 18, 2025. The Division II Class A and Class AA Quarterfinal Matches shall take place on October 25, 2025. Schools can mutually agree to play earlier than the dates indicated above.
  3. Location of Division I Region Tournament Games - Please check the bracket (Class A, Class AA, Class AAA) as the bracket will show which teams will be the host team in the region semi-finals and finals (In odd numbered years, the odd-numbered district shall host the region finals and in even-numbered years, the even numbered district shall host the region finals. NOTE: If a district winner from a district that is to host the regional finals is defeated, the district runner-up from that district shall host the regional finals. (Example: If it is district 2's time to host the region and the district 2 winner is defeated, the district 2 runner-up (provided that team wins) shall host the regional finals. If both teams from district 2 are defeated in the regional semi-final games, the district 1 winner shall host the regional finals.) ). The host team for regional tournament and sectional matches must have minimum field dimensions of 110 yards x 65 yards. If a school scheduled to host the region contest does not have a field with these dimensions, the game can still be played at the facility provided there is mutual agreement of both schools involved in the contest. If there is no mutual agreement, and there is no available field within a 15 mile radius of the host schools, the host school may request an exception from the state office.
  4. Location of Division II Region Tournament Games - Schools within each region shall select the sites of the region tournament games. The host team for regional, first round, and quarterfinal games must have minimum field dimensions of 110 yards x 65 yards. If a school scheduled to host the region contest does not have a field with these dimensions, the game can still be played at the facility provided there is mutual agreement of both schools involved in the contest. If there is no mutual agreement, and there is no available field within a 15 mile radius of the host schools, the host school may request an exception from the state office.
  5. Officials - In regional tournament play, officials will be assigned by the local association that services the host school. Three man crews will be used. Fees for regional tournament officials can be found here.
  6. Game Administrator's Meeting - The TSSAA Board of Control has designated that prior to any varsity contest in the sport of girls soccer, the game administrator is required to conduct a pre-game meeting with game officials, both head coaches, and security. The game administrator shall be present and visible for the duration of the game.
  7. Inclement Weather Guidelines - Games suspended due to conditions which make it impossible to continue play shall be continued from the point of suspension of play if less than one half of the game has been played. The same procedure shall be used if more than one half of the game has been played and the score is tied when play is suspended.
  8. Tie Breaking Procedures / Mercy Rule - Beginning with postseason play, two 10 minute overtime periods will be played if there is a tie at the end of regulation. These overtime periods are not sudden victory. If at the conclusion of the two 10 minute overtime periods a tie exists, then the tie shall be broken with the penalty kick procedure outlined in the NFHS Soccer Rules Book. The Mercy Rule shall be in effect for postseason contests.
  9. Financial Arrangements / Reporting - TSSAA shall receive 18% of the gross gate receipts for each regional game. After paying 18% to TSSAA and game expenses, the gate is divided between the two participating teams. Postseason financial forms must now be completed through the TSSAA Portal. All checks for district, regional, and sectional tournaments and playoffs must be distributed within 10 business days of the completion of the tournament or game. Failure to do so will result in a $100.00 late fee to be paid to TSSAA and is to be used in the A.F. Bridges sportsmanship program to go to schools or students receiving awards. Failure to distribute funds within 20 business days will result in an additional $200 late fee (total $300.00). Failure to distribute funds within 40 business days will result in an additional $200.00 late fee (total $500.00). The school may not host any tournament or playoff until the principal or athletic director appears before the Board of Control to explain their reasons for not distributing the checks within the required time frame. The Board would then determine whether the school can host tournaments or playoffs in the future. It shall be the duty of the principal or his/her designee to handle all financial arrangements for the game and make a financial report to the state office.
  10. Tickets / Price of Admission - Ticket prices for the tournament should be agreed upon by the schools. They are not set by TSSAA. Arrangements for tickets should be made by the host schools.
  11. Tournament Passes - The host school(s) along with the teams in the region should agree on passes that will be accepted at the gate, as well as the number of passes that will be honored for players and staff of participating teams. TSSAA ID Cards are allowed to be accepted as passes and admit one person only. The card holder MUST be in possession of the physical card. Photos of TSSAA ID cards cannot be accepted. The Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association (TACA) card will provide complimentary admittance for one person per card.
  12. Tournament Rosters - A team may place an unlimited number of players on the roster for region tournament play. A team may dress an unlimited number of players for region tournament play.
  13. Awards - TSSAA provides a region champion and runner-up plaque. They will be sent to the district tournament director of the odd district tournament as it is their turn to host the region championship. Barring supply issues, all plaques should be received by October 1, 2025. If you have not received your plaques by October 1, please contact Shonnie Speicher (tssaa@tssaa.org).
  14. Video / Videostream / Radio - All taping or filming by a school must be approved by the local Game Director, and the Game Director shall assign space, when available, for the school to tape or film. Rules governing videostreaming or other broadcast of a postseason contest are found in the TSSAA Media Regulations.
  15. Submitting Results & Next Round Information - Upon completion of the region tournament, please email your results ASAP to: tssaa@tssaa.org. In addition, Division I sectional match hosts and Division II First Round and Quarterfinal Round hosts please submit the site of your match to tssaa@tssaa.org as soon as possible.
  16. State Tournament Program - If your team qualifies for the region final, please make arrangements to submit your team photo, school logo, and team roster prior to the sectional game. Detailed instructions for submitting your team's information can be found here.
