Week 1 of the high school football season is underway across Tennessee, as teams take the field for the first week of the 2026 season. More than 180 games are scheduled this week, giving fans across the state plenty of opportunities to get out and support their local teams.
Nineteen of this week’s games will be played on Thursday or Saturday, while more than 70 varsity football contests will be streamed live on the NFHS Network for those who want to follow the action from home.
We encourage everyone to come out and support their students, schools, and communities throughout the season. Your presence and positive support help create an exciting and sportsmanlike atmosphere at local games. Let’s set the tone for a great season by cheering on our teams responsibly and respectfully.
