Andrew Lewis

Andrew Lewis, a rising sophomore at Pigeon Forge High School, has been honored with the NFHS Student-Athlete Award of Excellence, presented by the TSSAA and the National Federation of State High School Associations. This recognition highlights Lewis's commitment to sportsmanship both on and off the field.

As a multi-sport athlete, Lewis has demonstrated a strong work ethic and dedication to his teams. Coaches note that he consistently arrives early for practice, maintains perfect attendance, and stays late to assist with cleanup. His contributions extend beyond regular team activities, as he has been observed staying after team dinners to tidy up and volunteering his time to mentor younger athletes at camps and meets.

Despite being freshman this past school year, Lewis has already exhibited leadership qualities that have caught the attention of both his peers and coaches. His positive attitude and willingness to help others have made him a role model for younger students.

When not engaged in sports, Lewis enjoys fishing, further highlighting the well-rounded nature of student-athletes who contribute positively to their schools and communities.

The NFHS Student-Athlete Award of Excellence serves as a reminder of the importance of good sportsmanship in school-based athletics. Lewis's actions demonstrate that sportsmanship encompasses more than just behavior during competition; it includes a commitment to teamwork, respect, and community service. These qualities not only enhance the overall sports experience but also prepare students for future challenges and responsibilities.
