Class AAA Mr. Basketball Winner: Dedric Lawson, Hamilton

MURFREESBORO- - -The winner of the Division I Class AAA Mr. Basketball Award was announced at the conclusion of the championship game today at Murphy Center. Your 2015 Division I Class AAA Mr. Basketball Award winner is Dedric Lawson of Hamilton High School. The other two finalists were Donte Dorsey from Southwind High School and K.J. Lawson from Hamilton High School.

Lawson is a 6’9”, senior, power forward for the Wildcats. He is a four year starter who averages 20 points, 15 rebounds, 3.6 blocks, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He shoots 76% from the field, 36% from three-point range, and 84% from the free throw line. He was a 2014 McDonald’s All-American selection and was a Second Team All-American pick in 2013. Dedric has been named to the All-District and All-Region tournament teams. He has scored over 1,700 points and has over 1,100 rebounds in his career at Hamilton.
