The TSSAA Board of Control will meet at the DoubleTree Hotel in Murfreesboro for a two-day meeting beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6. The Board will reconvene on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday’s meeting will focus on strategic planning and classification work sessions. The Board will address the agenda items on Wednesday.

More than 30 items are on the Board's annual summer meeting agenda.

Financial reports for the winter sports of basketball and wrestling will be presented to the Board for approval as well as the reports of the annual Athletic Directors’ and Cheer Coaches’ Conferences.

Two separate proposals concerning the classification of boarding schools have been submitted for the Board’s consideration.

The Board will be voting on proposed changes to the bowling competition format. Separate proposals have been submitted by the schools in District 14 and Christian Brothers High School.

Raleigh Egypt High School is set to appeal the sanctions placed on the boys’ basketball program resulting from an unsportsmanlike incident that took place during their boys’ basketball contest on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Four schools are requesting membership in TSSAA.

  • Chattanooga High Center for Creative Arts requests TSSAA membership for the 2023-24 school year.

  • James Lawson High School requests TSSAA membership for the 2023-24 school year. This is a new MNPS school opening in 2023-24 to replace Hillwood High School.

  • KIPP Antioch Global High School requests TSSAA membership for the 2023-24 school year. This is a new charter school in Davidson County that will open in 2023-24 with the ninth grade only.

  • Sevier County Junior High School requests TSSAA membership for the 2023-24 school year. This is a new school in Sevier County with grades 7-9. If approved, the school plans to have the 9th grade students participate in a cooperative agreement with Sevier County High School.
