The TSSAA Board of Control and Legislative Council will meet at the at the HIlton Garden Inn in Mt. Juliet (1975 Providence Parkway, Mount Juliet, TN 37122) beginning on Tuesday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 10. Both meetings will begin at 8:30 a.m.

A proposal to sanction boys' volleyball, submitted by Page High School, seeks to recognize it as an emerging sport for the 2026-27 school year before moving to fully sanctioned status in 2027-28. The board will also revisit the structure of the Division I basketball state tournament. The Board will discuss Bradley Central High School's proposal to use RPI seeding for the Division I state basketball tournament. Additionally, the board will weigh a proposal to turn the DI district tournament third-and-fourth-place game into an elimination contest.

Administrative items include the second reading of the enrollment model for the 2027-2029 classification cycle, which utilizes a one-year "snapshot" of student data. The board is also expected to vote on a staff recommendation requiring all coaches to complete a mandatory TSSAA Recruiting Course upon hire. This coincides with a planned discussion regarding the expansion of the "non-traditional student" eligibility definition following recent state legislation.

The Board will also consider numerous appeals and membership requests. Chattanooga Central High School is petitioning for a return to the 2026 football playoffs after a two-year ban stemming from a 2025 forfeit, while Wooddale and Maplewood high schools will appeal separate disciplinary actions. Furthermore, four schools—Chesterton Academy of St. Margaret Clitherow, Macon Christian Academy, LEAD Neely's Bend, and Fairview Christian Academy—have applied for TSSAA membership for the upcoming school year.
