The TSSAA Board of Control met in Hermitage on Thursday, February 27 to address numerous items on the agenda.
The Board voted to elect Grant Swallows as President and Bryan True as Vice-President.
A new logo for the association was approved by the Board of Control.
The color scheme of the logo mimics the Tennessee flag. The three stars in the “SS” mimic the exact shape of the Tennessee flag and the slants in the “T” and “AA” represent the shape of Tennessee. The version of the logo that will be used during 2025 will commemorate the association’s centennial celebration.
Red Bank High School appealed a previous decision to uphold the football contract between Red Bank High School and Cleveland High School that required Red Bank to pay $5,000 in restitution to Cleveland for the cancelled football contest scheduled on September 27, 2024. The Board denied Red Bank’s appeal.
The Board approved a recommendation that three officials be assigned for regional and sectional softball contests, provided that the local association has enough officials to work the contests.
Nashville Collegiate Prep was approved for membership beginning with the 2025-26 school year.
Financial reports for the State Bowling Tournament and Hall of Champions games were reviewed as well as the 2024 BlueCross Bowl team allotment report.
