4x100m Relay (mixed gender, 2 athletes and 2 partners)
Each athlete and partner can participate in a maximum of 2 events. Athletes can pair with a different partner for each of their 2 events.
For the 4x100m Relay, the team must compete in the following order: partner, athlete, partner, athlete.
Sectionals:
This spring we will hold four sectional meets across the state to determine the qualifiers for the Unified Track & Field State Championships. Unified Track & Field sectional classification can be found here. If your school is not listed in the classification, please let us know by emailing Colby Coulter at ccoulter@tssaa.org. In an effort to include more schools and competitors, Unified Track & Field programs no longer have to field a full team in order to enter the sectional meet. A school can bring a minimum of one athlete/partner pair to compete in a single event, but an athlete/partner pair must register and compete together. Schools can also bring as many athlete/partner pairs as they desire to the sectional meet, but if they are entering more than one pair into an event (or foursome into the 4x100m), they must designate upon registration which pair/foursome is their varsity entry. All other entries from that school will be considered junior varsity (JV) and their scores cannot count toward the team score or for individual qualification to the state meet. Scores will be determined by combining the time or distance of the partner and athlete. Teams and individuals will advance to state from each sectional as listed below.

State Meet:
The Unified Track & Field State Championships will be held in conjunction with the DI Class AAA Championships on Thursday, May 23 at MTSU in Murfreesboro. Unified Field events will begin at 1:30pm with the long jump followed by the shot put. Unified Running events will take place where the event occurs in the usual order of track running events, which begins at 4:00pm. Individual medals will be awarded in each event along with a team runner-up and champion. Team scores will be determined by the finish of individuals from that school.
The 4 teams and 4 individual pairs that qualify from the sectionals are expected to attend the state meet. Once the 4 teams qualify, they are allowed to make any substitutions to their athlete and partner roster up until one hour prior to the start of the event. For the 4 individual qualifiers, in the event that a partner is unavailable to attend, the athlete will be allowed to compete with an alternate partner. In the event that the athlete is unable to attend, the next best individual pair will be invited instead, provided that the TSSAA/SOTN office is notified by Friday, May 3 at ccoulter@tssaa.org.
