Here you will find email distribution lists for all region athletic directors and head coaches. You will also find a no-cost conference call line with an access code that is unique for your region.

  1. Division I Tournament Site - All region tournament games will be played at the higher seed. If two schools are the same seed, the district that was scheduled to host the region tournament will be considered the higher seeded team and will host that game (Due to it being an odd-numbered year, the odd-numbered district (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15) shall host the game.).
  2. Division II Tournament Site - All region tournament games will be played at the higher seed. In Class A, if two schools are the same seed, the school in the district that was scheduled to host the region tournament will be considered the higher seeded team and will host the game (Due to it being an odd-numbered year, the odd-numbered district (1, 3, 5) shall host the game.).
  3. Division I Tournament Director - The administrators of the schools in the region must submit to the state office the name and contact information of the individual that will serve as the tournament director.
  4. Division II Tournament Director - The administrators of the schools in the region must submit to the state office the name and contact information of the individual that will serve as the tournament director.
  5. Division I Tournament Schedule
    1. On Friday, following the completion of the district tournament, there will be four quarterfinal girls’ games with the Winner and Runner-Up teams from both districts hosting Fourth Place and Third Place teams from the other district. Example:
      Site 1: Fourth District 2 @ Winner District 1
      Site 2: Third District 2 @ Runner-Up District 1
      Site 3: Fourth District 1 @ Winner District 2
      Site 4: Third District 1 @ Runner-Up District 2
      All games will be at 7:00 p.m. local time. All expenses, including officials, 18% of the gate to TSSAA, etc., will be paid by the host school with the net receipts split 50/50 between the two schools.
    2. On Saturday, following the completion of the district tournament, there will be four quarterfinal boys’ games with the Winner and Runner-Up teams from both districts hosting the Fourth Place and Third Place teams from the other district. Example:
      Site 1: Fourth District 2 @ Winner District 1
      Site 2: Third District 2 @ Runner-Up District 1
      Site 3: Fourth District 1 @ Winner District 2
      Site 4: Third District 1 @ Runner-Up District 2
      All games will be at 7:00 p.m. local time. All expenses, including officials, 18% of the gate to TSSAA, etc., will be paid by the host school with the net receipts split 50/50 between the two schools.
    3. The schedule for semifinal and final games which will take place the week after the completion of the quarterfinals as follows:
      Monday: Girls' Semifinal Games
      Tuesday: Boys' Semifinal Games
      Wednesday: Girls’ Championship
      Thursday: Boys’ Championship
      All games will be at 7:00 p.m. local time. All expenses, including officials, 18% of the gate to TSSAA, etc., will be paid by the host school with the net receipts split 50/50 between the two schools.
  6. Division II Tournament Schedule - Set schedule and times for all games, if not already done. On nights where school is in session the next day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday), there may be no more than two games played per night per site. Notify assigning officer of local association of district tournament schedule, times and sites as soon as possible. The tournament must be completed by the dates outlined in the TSSAA Calendar.

  8. Tickets / Price of Admission - Ticket prices for the tournament should be agreed upon by the schools. They are not set by TSSAA. Arrangements for tickets should be made by the host schools.
  9. Tournament Passes - The host school(s) along with the teams in the district should agree on the passes that will be accepted at the gate, as well as the number of passes that will be honored for players and staff of participating teams. TSSAA Championship Event cards and TACA cards are not to be accepted as passes.
  10. Game Officials - Game officials shall be assigned by the state office. Game officials shall be paid $80.00 plus mileage at 15 cents per mile per official. Mileage is to be paid only if travel for the official is outside the county in which the official resides and should be based on mileage from city to city.
  11. Game Administrator's Meeting - The TSSAA Board of Control has designated that prior to any varsity contest in the sport of basketball, the game administrator is required to conduct a pre-game meeting with game officials, both head coaches, and security. The game administrator shall be present and visible for the duration of the game.
  12. Mercy Rule - In the fourth quarter, there is a mandated continuous clock when one team gets a 35 point advantage over their opponent. The clock would only stop for shooting fouls, timeouts, injuries, and the administration of technical fouls. The clock will continue to run for the remainder of the game, regardless of the point differential.
  13. Financial Arrangements - Concession revenue shall go to the host school unless otherwise agreed upon by the administration of schools in the district. All expenses, including officials, 18% of the gate to TSSAA, etc., will be paid by the host school with the net receipts split 50/50 between the two schools. Postseason financial forms must now be completed through the TSSAA Portal. All checks for district, regional, and sectional tournaments and playoffs must be distributed within 10 business days of the completion of the tournament or game. Failure to do so will result in a $100.00 late fee to be paid to TSSAA and is to be used in the A.F. Bridges sportsmanship program to go to schools or students receiving awards. Failure to distribute funds within 20 business days will result in an additional $200 late fee (total $300.00). Failure to distribute funds within 40 business days will result in an additional $200.00 late fee (total $500.00). The school may not host any tournament or playoff until the principal or athletic director appears before the Board of Control to explain their reasons for not distributing the checks within the required time frame. The Board would then determine whether the school can host tournaments or playoffs in the future.
  14. Video / Videostream / Radio - All taping or filming by a school must be approved by the local Game Director, and the Game Director shall assign space, when available, for the school to tape or film. Rules governing videostreaming or other broadcast of a postseason contest are found in the TSSAA Media Regulations.
  15. Tournament Awards - TSSAA provides a region championship plaque and a region runner-up plaque. Region plaques will be sent to the individual submitted as the person responsible for serving as the tournament director.
  16. Submitting Division I Tournament Results - As the region tournament progresses, the brackets on the TSSAA website will be updated. Therefore, upon completion of each game, please submit your results to: tssaa@tssaa.org.
  17. Submitting Division II Tournament Results - Upon completion of the region tournament, please email your results to: tssaa@tssaa.org. In addition, first round and quarterfinal match hosts please submit the site and time of your match to tssaa@tssaa.org as soon as possible.
  18. State Tournament Program - If your team qualifies for the region final, please make arrangements to submit your team photo, school logo, and team roster prior to the sectional game. Detailed instructions for submitting your team's information can be found on the TSSAA Website.
