Instructions for Individuals Entering the TSSAA State Bowling Tournament

TOURNAMENT SITE: The Division I and Division II Boys and Girls Individual State Bowling Tournament will be held at the Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna on January 24-25, 2008. Click here for directions to the Smyrna Bowling Center.

PASS GATE: Coaches, participants, non-participating teams, and administrators will enter the Smyrna Bowling Center through the café. The entrance to the café is located to the right of the main entrance into the center. Schools with participants in the tournament will be issued one pass per participant and one coaches pass.

Non-participating teams will also be allowed free admittance into the state tournament. The coach must accompany the team and they must come as a group. The coach will be required to provide a list of bowlers on school letterhead signed by either the principal or athletic director. Only bowlers who were submitted on eligibility for the 2007-08 school year can be submitted on the list for entrance. No more than 15 bowlers per team will be admitted free of charge.

Administrators carrying the 2007-08 TSSAA Championship Event Card will also be allowed entrance through the pass gate.

ADMISSION: Admission is $7.00 per person and is good for the entire day.

COACHES' PACKETS: Packets for participants in the state tournament will be available at the Smyrna Bowling Center beginning Wednesday, January 23. The packets will include a state tournament program, certificate of participation, participant/coaches passes, and a graph of the Sport Shot that will be used in the tournament. Each individual from each school that qualifies will be issued a participants' pass. There will be only one coaches' pass per school issued for coaches of individuals, whether that school qualifies one individual, or more. LOST PASSES WILL NOT BE REPLACED.

UNIFORMS: Participants in the state tournament must wear their school issued uniform.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The first round of the individual competition for Division I boys and girls will be on the house shot. The next round for both Division I and II boys and girls, the lanes will be oiled for the Sport Shot. The same sport shot will be used for the semifinal and final rounds of the Division I and II boys and girls tournament.

COACHES: Only faculty coaches, non-faculty coaches, or retired educators who are approved by the School and TSSAA, and have met the requirements of Article I, Section 9 of the TSSAA Bylaws may coach individuals whom are participating in the tournament.

TRAINER: Baptist Sports Medicine Clinic of Baptist Hospital will provide an athletic trainer for this event.
