  1. The Legislative Council, at its December meeting, tabled the discussion regarding Senate Resolution No. 121 urging TSSAA to sanction trap and skeet shooting as a competitive sport on the high school level.

    Supplement #1 contains a copy of the resolution and a letter from Mr. Michael Butler, Executive Director of the Tennessee Wildlife Federation. The Tennessee Wildlife Federation is the governing body for the Tennessee Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP).

    There has not been a proposal from a member school of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association to add trap and skeet shooting as a competitive sport.
  2. Proposal for a change in Article IV, Section 11 of the TSSAA Bylaws (Sports Calendar)

    The Legislative Council, at its December 2005 meeting, requested that a proposal be brought back to the Council in March 2006 for discussion in regard to changes in the TSSAA Sports Calendar. Specifically, the Council requested, at that time, that the proposal look at possible limitations to the Sports Calendar, issues of open facilities, conditioning, etc.

    The staff then discussed proposed changes and all phases of the Sports Calendar at meetings beginning in the fall of the 2006-2007 school year.
