- Re-elected Billy Joe Evans as President and Pete Stafford as Vice President.
- Denied the request for the addition of bowling as a sanctioned sport.
- Took no action on the adoption of swimming as a TSSAA sanctioned sport.
- Took no action on the request to eliminate Division II and place all schools in the same classification plan as in 1996-97.
- Took no action on the request to permit boarding school students with an athletic record to transfer from a boarding school to another member school and be eligible and permit students with an athletic record transferring from a member school to a boarding school to be eligible.
- Took no action on request for an exception to permit to non-athletic scholarships to be awarded to boarding students at boarding schools through school-administered programs.
- Took no action on the request to change the beginning date for fall sport practice from August 1 to "the week of August 1."
- Took no action on the request to change the beginning date for winter sport practice from November 1 to "the week of November 1."
- Voted to amend the sports calendar to state that a school may not scrimmage with another school until they have practiced five days.
