We all know that not everyone will be happy with whatever the TSSAA decides. With that being said, I like the idea of the "Z" Plan. That will cut down on travel distance, time, and cost. In this day and age of higher academic standards, and higher cost of living, as well as higher cost of gas, the "Z" plan makes the most sense. Not only on the cost factor, but also for the competitveness factor. It willbring more old school rivalries back into play. It says something if the same kids are competing in baseball, football, and basketball. When I played, I got to know all the kids in all sports from all the schools I played against. Also, I can see that the urban/rural split can be very beneficial also in terms of competition.

I like the idea of going to the 3 class plan in regular season and then back to 5 classes for the playoffs. It will bring back rivalry games/matches from days of old. It will allow schools to build new rivalries in football with the same schools that are in their baseball and basketball districts. It will cut down on travel costs due to cost of petro. It will not keep students out later than they have to be in order to keep their studies up to par. Here is a senario to consider: Montgomery Crentral (Northern most county in Middle TN) going to play Giles County (Southern most county in Middle TN) on a night before taking the ACT the next morning. I assume it takes over 2 hrs to get to either school. The loser goes home after the ballgame having to pay to go compete and lose. They lose money. However, the matchup looks a lot better in the playoffs because the games are now @ 7 pm and the loser will still receive a cut from the playoff gate in order to pay their expenses. I'm sure their are many examples such as this.

I like the new changes. City schools have dominated for years because of the ability to have access to extra opportunities for improvement in athletics, that rural area schools have not had.
