BOARD OF CONTROL MINUTES

March 18, 1999

Murfreesboro, Tennessee

1. Elected Mike Reed President and Harry Durham Vice President for the 1999-2000 school year.

2. Approved the Financial Report of the 1998 Football Playoffs.

3. Approved the Financial Report of the 1998 Volleyball Tournament Series.

4. Approved the Financial Report of the 1998 Girls’ Soccer Tournament Series.

5. Voted to table the request of Carroll Academy for membership in TSSAA until the June Board of Control meeting.

6. Voted to table the request of Faith Family Christian Academy for membership in TSSAA until the June Board of Control meeting.

7. Voted to honor the contract with the Nashville Area Junior Chamber of Commerce to hold the State Football Championships at Vanderbilt for the 1999 season only. The State Football Championships will be up for bid beginning with January 1, 2000.

8. Approved the following ball contracts for four years beginning with the 2000-2001 school year: Rawlings – football, basketball, and baseball; Worth – softball; Tachikara – volleyball; Mitre – soccer.

9. Denied East Ridge’s proposal that the international rule in regard to tiebreaker in softball not be used.
