BOARD OF CONTROL
Hermitage, Tennessee
January 11, 2001

  1. Roll Call.

  2. Minutes of previous meeting approved.

  3. Approved membership applications for the 2001 calendar year and gave the executive director authority to follow up with schools that haven't paid. Dues should be paid by February 1 or schools cannot participate in the 2001 tournament series.

  4. Approved the Financial Report of the 2000 Boys and Girls State Golf Tournaments. Voted to apply a $10 annual fee per school that participates in golf to help offset expenses for officials at the regional level.

  5. Discussed the financial report for the 2000 Volleyball Tournaments. Final report will be available at the March meeting.

  6. Approved the Financial Report of the 2000 Girls Soccer Tournaments.

  7. Approved the Financial Report of the 2000 State Cross Country Meets.

  8. Approved the Financial Report of the 2000 Cheerleading Competition.

  9. Discussed the financial report of the 2000 football playoffs. Final report will be available at the March meeting.

  10. 2001-2002 TSSAA Calendar adopted as proposed.

  11. Voted to instruct the state office to make the draw for regional and state tennis tournaments.

  12. Approved making Football Rules meetings available to coaches online. Heard update on Internet and Web Site Changes.

  13. Denied Munford High School's request to move from District 14 to District 13 for all sports except football.

  14. Discussed the Open Facilities Rule, but took no action.

  15. Discussed the action of the Legislative Council at their December meeting.

  16. Approved Calvary Baptist School's request for membership in TSSAA.

  17. Voted to instruct the state office to make the draw for the State Basketball Tournament after both the girls' and boys' sectional games. The girls' state tournament draw will be released on Sunday, March 4 and the boys' draw will be released on Tuesday, March 6.

  18. Approved proposed Districts and Regions in Wrestling for 2001-2002 and 2002-2003.
