the financial reports of the 2000 fall sports tournaments.
- Reviewed
fall administrator’s meetings.
- Approved
membership request of First Assembly Christian School.
- Approved
Tennessee School for the Deaf’s request for permission not to participate
in the football playoffs.
- Approved
Tennessee Preparatory School’s request for permission to not participate
in the football playoffs and basketball tournament series for the
2001-2002 and 2002-2003 school years.
- Approved
Fayette Academy’s Request for permission to be placed in Division I.
- Denied
Bearden High School’s request to drop the last week of regular season of
basketball and moving all tournaments one week earlier.
- Denied
East Ridge High School’s request for appeal of enrollment figures.
- Voted
to uphold original disciplinary action placed by the state office against
Coffee County High School concerning unsportsmanlike conduct actions that
occurred at the 2000 State Softball Tournament.
- Denied
Kenwood High School’s request for appeal of enrollment figures.
- Heard
update on disciplinary action and litigation.
- Voted
to add 2-lb. growth allowance on January 15 to coincide with certification
date on January 15 due to the fact that it must meet NFHS wrestling rules.
- Denied
Clarksville High School’s request for appeal of enrollment figures.
- Denied
Lighthouse Christian Academy’s request to move to Division II.
- Voted
to play the girls’ state soccer tournament one week earlier at Finley
Stadium due to the stadium being used by UT-Chattanooga for football.
- Voted
to take the following action in regard to nine and ten team regions
in football for 2001-2002 and
2002-2003 classification:
- Ten
team region will be split into two groups of five with each school
playing four teams in their group and three from the other group with the
schedule to be drawn up by the state office.
- Nine
team regions will split into three groups of three with each school
playing the two teams in their group and two teams from each of the other
two groups with the schedule to be drawn up by the state office.
- Any
ten or nine team region can continue to follow the old format and play
all schools in their region provided there is a two-thirds vote of the
schools in the region. If there
is not a two-thirds vote by all schools in the region, then the region
will follow either plan A or B.
