MR. FOOTBALL FINALIST
The American General Mr. Football Award winners will be named when the finalists, chosen by high school coaches and select members of the media, are honored at the 15th annual Mr. Football Awards Luncheon.
The Mr. Football finalists include three linemen and three backs in each of the seven classifications: Division I, Classes 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A, and Division II, Classes A and AA.
In 1994 American General expanded its scope to include equal recognition for the unsung high school linemen in a joint venture that includes a Mr. Football Linemen of the Year and a Mr. Football Back of the Year.
American General Mr. Football Award winners are to be named at the November 29 luncheon, slated for noon in the Mississippi/Pearl Ballroom at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. The awards luncheon is to begin at 11:30 a.m. with the presentation program to start at noon. American General Life and Accident Insurance Company welcomes the media to cover the noteworthy high school sports event and have lunch with the honorees and other guests.
Preceding the awards luncheon is a 10 a.m. Clinic Bowl Media Day in the Sewanee Ballroom where coaches and players from the teams in the five Division I Clinic Bowl games will be available for interviews by both the print and electronic media. Members of the press can pick up credentials for the Division I Clinic Bowl at the Media Day.
